Tumbling and Vibratory Compounds
Unibrite 392: A tough long lasting, Aluminum Oxide compound. High alkali. Good for long or short cycles. It can be used with all sizes of media and parts or for self tumbling. Will produces an extremely fine matte finish, which can be burnished to a high luster. Inhibits rust throughout a long cycle. Used to deburr steel, stainless steel and brass.
Low water; ¾ lb per cu ft of barrel size
Unibrite 348: A low alkaline mild abrasive. Well suited for medium and short cycles. It will produce a smooth matte finish and can be used with all sizes for media and parts. Used to deburr aluminum, brass, magnesium and all light metals.
Use with medium water; 2 ½ to 5 oz /gal. of water.
Unibrite 240: A non abrasive, high alkaline, low foaming cleaner used for light deburring with abrasive shapes suspends soil and enables the abrasive to do the cutting. This compound also inhibits rust without additional processing. Used to deburr steel and stainless steel. Use medium water to high water 5 oz/gal of water.
Unibrite 21: A general purpose low alkaline mild abrasive. Used for short cycles with Aluminum Oxide abrasives. It is very effective on steel and stainless. Use medium water; 5 oz/gal water
Unibrite 3 LX: A mildly alkaline liquid burnishing compound for use on steel, aluminum and zinc substrates. This product has been found to be very effective when used as the burnishing compound after the accelerated mass finishing of steel substrates. Contains phosphate, glycol ether, soap and surfactants.
Unibrite B125: An excellent low alkaline compound. It will produce a light finish. Use on steel and stainless.
Use with high water; 1- 2 oz/gal water.
Unibrite 123: An excellent all purpose alkaline compound. High lubrication produces a light, clear lustrous finish. It will not darken aluminum. Appropriate for all light metals. Use with high water; 1 – 2 oz/gal water.
Unibrite 220: A multipurpose alkaline compound which develops natural color and produces a brilliant clear luster. It is excellent for burnishing with abrasive chips or burnishing balls. Use for short cycles up to 90 minutes. Well suited for all metals. Use high water; 1 -2 oz/gal water.
Unibrite 222: Similar to Unibrite 220 but recommended for longer cycles ranging from 90 minutes to 24 hours. Particularly effective for developing a high luster on brass and copper. It is suitable for all metals. Use high water; 1 – 2 oz/gal water.
Unibrite 420: A mildly acidic liquid. It produces ultra high luster – particularly on stainless. Use3 oz/ gal water
Unibrite 428: A mildly alkaline liquid developed for use in flow-thru vibratory compound feeders. A versatile compound for both deburring ( 1 – 2 oz/gal water) or burnishing ( 3 oz/gal water)
Brightner, Descaling & Cleaning Compounds:
Unibrite 115: A general purpose acid compound formulated for decaling, de-rusting, brightening/coloring and general cleanup after long grinding cycles. It is a quick acting formula with high wetting properties. Parts must be neutralized after use. It is suitable for all metals with the exception of Magnesium and Zinc. Use high water; 1 to 2 oz/gal water.
Unibrite 141: An all purpose cleaner for rapid removal of stubborn soil. Free rinsing. This cleaner will not attack Aluminum. It is suitable for all metals. Use high water 1 to 2 oz/gal water.
Unibrite 50-R: Well suited for iron and steel. It is a general purpose alkaline rust inhibitor. Add to final rinse and roll for only a few minutes. Do not rinse after application. Process will leave a light film on parts which will prevent rust for short periods. It will be particularly effective if parts are dried after tumbling. Steel media can be stored for long periods completely submerged in solution. Use high water; 4 oz/gal water.
Unibrite 51-R: A highly concentrated, high alkaline rust inhibitor. For use on materials particularly susceptible to rust.. Apply in last rinse of operation or as a dip tank solution. It is very effective if parts are dried after treatment. Use high water; 3 oz/gal water.
Unibrite 451: Is a water-displacing petroleum-based rust inhibitor. It is excellent for long term storage. Can be spin dried or air dried rendering a non oily surface. Use 2 to 3oz /cu ft of barrel size.
